About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Hudson Running ("Hudson") collects and uses information when you use the Hudson web app. It is written to match how Hudson works today. If that changes, Hudson will update this policy.

Information Hudson collects

Account information. When you create an account, Hudson collects the email address you use to sign in. Authentication is handled by Supabase.

Information you enter. Hudson may collect information you choose to provide in the app, including your name, running goals, recent running frequency and mileage, preferred training days, rest days, strength-training preferences, equipment you train with, workout completions, workout feedback, reflections, and similar training information.

How Hudson uses this information

Hudson uses this information to provide and improve your individualized training experience — for example, writing This Week from the days you can train and the sessions you actually complete, and keeping your training history with your account.

Hudson does not sell your personal information.

Service providers

Hudson uses other companies to operate the service. Supabase is used for authentication and database/storage services. Vercel is used to host and operate the web application. Garmin is an optional connected third-party service. Hudson does not own or operate Garmin, and connecting Garmin does not send Hudson the rest of your Garmin account or send Garmin the information you enter directly in Hudson.

Information may be disclosed to infrastructure and service providers as needed to operate, maintain, or protect Hudson, or when the law requires it. Those providers process information according to their own practices as well as Hudson's instructions.

Garmin

Connecting Garmin is optional. Hudson does not collect Garmin information unless you choose to connect Garmin from your profile.

If you choose to connect Garmin, Hudson may receive and process activity summaries from that connection so Hudson can offer training-related features. That information may include activity type, activity date and time, distance, duration, pace or speed information, elevation gain, and the average heart rate associated with an activity when Garmin provides it.

Hudson's current Garmin integration does not import GPS route or location tracks, laps or splits, cadence, maximum heart rate, calories, or device information. If Hudson later collects any of that information, this policy will be updated first.

When you choose Import recent Garmin activities, Hudson may retrieve about the last 30 days of available Garmin activity summaries. That is not a full Garmin history, and Hudson does not import every Garmin activity as a Hudson workout. Hudson may match a retrieved activity to a run it has already prescribed. A matched activity can supply what actually happened for that prescribed run. Unmatched recent running activities may be stored as imported training evidence — a record of what you did, not a Hudson prescription. Hudson may use that evidence for recent-training context and an initial projection starting point. Disconnecting Garmin does not delete imported evidence already stored with your Hudson account.

To keep the connection working, Hudson may store a Garmin account identifier when Garmin provides one, encrypted access credentials on Hudson's servers, and connection or sync details such as when you last imported. Encryption is not a guarantee that information cannot be compromised.

Disconnecting Garmin removes Hudson's Garmin connection and credentials and asks Garmin to end the registration. Training information that was already imported into a Hudson workout may remain in your Hudson training history after you disconnect. Disconnect does not delete that history. You may request deletion of your Hudson account and data through the Contact page.

Information you enter directly in Hudson is provided to Hudson, not to Garmin. Garmin is not responsible for data you submit directly to Hudson.

How long Hudson keeps information

Hudson retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain your account and training history, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your Hudson account and data.

Access and deletion

You may request access to or deletion of your Hudson account and data by contacting Hudson through the Contact page.

Security

Hudson uses ordinary internet infrastructure and service providers to run the app. Hudson takes the operation of the service seriously, but no method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be secure. Please use a strong password and keep your sign-in details private.

Children

Hudson is not intended for children under 13. Hudson does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact Hudson so the account can be deleted.

Changes

Hudson may update this Privacy Policy as Hudson changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when that happens. Please read the updated policy when you return.
